ME Malaga

Owned by Meliá, the renowned Spanish hotel chain, ME Malaga is the first Meliá hotel in the city and an addition to Malaga’s list of five-star establishments. The modern hotel opened in December 2025, and has quickly become one of the city’s top picks for a treat-yourself stay.

ME Malaga Always Me room

It has a prime location on the corner of Plaza de la Merced and commanding views of the city skyline and Alcazaba walls. While the vistas might be historic, ME Malaga is anything but: the building combines contemporary architecture and design, with quirky details and stunning murals throughout.

As you’d expect from a five-star hotel, the list of facilities and amenities runs long. One of the highlights is the rooftop terrace, complete with plunge pool, sunlounger area, bar and restaurant. We think the views from here are among the best in town.

Location

If you want location, ME Malaga ticks all the boxes. It sits on Calle Victoria on the corner of Plaza de la Merced, placing you at the heart of attractions, restaurants and cafés, and museums. The Port and Muelle Uno are an easy walk down Calle Alcazabilla, and if you want to walk to the beach, head through the adjacent tunnel to La Malagueta (allow 15-20 minutes).

ME Malaga also has exceptional views, which we think give you a great idea of how the city looks for above and allow you to orientate yourself if you’re a first time visitor. In addition, the hotel is slightly away from the main crowds, giving you a bit of breathing space when you arrive and leave.
