Dani Carnero (also chef at La Cosmopolita and La Cosmo) gained his first Michelin star for Kaleja in 2022, renewing it in 2026. Traditional home cooking gets a very modern twist in the form of one tasting menu, priced at €130.

If you lunch from Tuesday to Friday, you can enjoy a special menu of 3 aperitifs, 1 main and desert for €85 or 4 aperitifs, 1 main and desert for €95.

All menus can be paired to perfection or let the maître d advise you on the right wine.

Fresh local produce dominates but not necessarily in a form you’d recognise. The tripe, for example, is cod, beans come with carbonara and Iberian pork gets a palo cortado marinade and a truffle Chantilly side.

Service is first class in this small venue with elegant but simple décor.
