Vino Mio
Right outside the Cervantes Theatre, so ideal for a pre- or post-performance meal, this well-established restaurant serves quality food and wine and has some of the most professional and friendliest waiters in town. Vino Mio has two spaces – a cosy indoors and spacious outdoor terrace, always surprisingly quiet despite being in the city centre.
Dutch chef Freddy Cusell took over management of the restaurant in mid-2024 and has created a menu focusing on Andalusian cuisine, with Nikkei touches, combining Peruvian and Japanese cooking.
On the menu
Vino Mio offers a varied selection of dishes. They include seven starters, where stars of the show include tuna tartare and tiradito (Corvina fish in Malaga ajo blanco soup). Main dishes consist of three fish and three meat options, all with seasonal garnish. There’s also a trio of wok dishes.
Vegetarians are well catered for, with four options for starters and four main courses. The veggie canneloni is perhaps the best you’ll taste in Malaga.
Desserts include the house “tarta bien loca”, a take on the local cake but with a different twist and surprise in the middle.
Bargain lunch menu
In early 2026, Vino Mio introduced one of the best-value lunchtime menus in Malaga. For just €12.50, you can enjoy three courses (starter, mains and dessert) plus bread and one drink (beer, soft drink, water or coffee).

Prices at Vino Mio
Starters range from €10 to €18, mains from €18 to €32, and desserts from €9.50. Expect to pay from €40 per person.
Vino Mio also has a tapas menu, with a wide range of choices, starting at €2 per tapa.

Art work

Flamenco
You can also catch the flamenco show at 6pm and 8pm Wednesdays to Sunday. A local group performs and the singer is top-notch. Note that the flamenco show is available inside the restaurant only and there’s a fee of €15 per person.
Ambience
Vino Mio has two dining spaces: the outside terrace has a privileged spot on the square, with the Cervantes Theatre to one side. Unlike some restaurants, Vino Mio has a large terrace, with plenty of space for all the diners. Despite being in the city centre, this terrace is always quiet and relaxed, giving you the chance to take time out from bustling Malaga while you dine.
Inside, the decor is modern and airy, with art work on the walls. The flamenco show takes place by the bar area, but the dancer moves around the space and the sound carries well, so you won’t miss a thing even if your table is slightly further away.
